Head of School Search

SF Day’s Board of Trustees announced in November that Peter McCormack was named Interim Head of School starting January 1, 2022. With deep leadership experience and qualities that align well with SF Day’s mission, Peter was the unanimous choice from the search committee

In August, the SF Day School Board of Trustees and Head of School Dr. Mike Walker shared with our community that, following a well-deserved sabbatical beginning in January 2022, Mike will be leaving SF Day School to pursue new opportunities.

SF Day has made remarkable achievements over the past six years under Mike’s leadership, including integrating Universal Design for Learning; making significant progress on our DEI initiatives; strengthening the school’s operations; ensuring the dual-delivery of our educational program during the pandemic; and undertaking the most successful capital campaign in the school’s history. Because of the campaign, as well as Mike’s vision and commitment, we’ll soon realize a decades-long dream of expanding our campus — providing faculty housing and creating new spaces that will benefit the learning experience of every student.

Head of School Search Committee

The search for our long-term Head of School will be co-led by SF Day parents and Trustees Dean Rader and Craig Brumfield. The Committee includes faculty, parents, administration and alumni. Together, they will bring relevant experience, diverse perspectives, and a commitment to finding an exceptional leader who embraces SF Day's mission and values.
