Meet Lauren Pitcher, Director of Communications

Joined SF Day in 2021 

Lauren's passion for communications began with being on the yearbook staff at her high school, and then a writer for her college newspaper as well as an anchor for the on-campus TV news, and her first job after college at a local/now-defunct TV station; to today creating communications strategies, producing documentaries and videos, and securing media coverage.

She has a personal commitment to helping underrepresented youth participate in the arts and access and succeed in higher education. Her proudest accomplishment is being a wife and mom to two daughters.

Meet Ayden Bradley, Specials Teacher (music, K-4)

Ayden is a Bay Area-based music educator and percussionist with over 12 years of experience teaching music to a broad range of ages and ability levels. He has developed curricula and curated youth performances for children in after school arts and high school programs throughout California. He also specializes in the marching arts and has taught and composed for top-tier marching bands and percussion units.

What is one thing you like about San Francisco Day School? 

I love that there is an overall appreciation of the arts. 

What are 3 words that describe you as a student?

Determined, ambitious, and reflective 

What is one thing that students would be surprised to know about you? 

I have a severe cat allergy.

What is one thing you are currently learning or would like to learn?

I am currently learning about useful technology that can benefit the music classroom. 

Jeni Izuel, CFO

Joined SF Day in 2020

Jeni Izuel comes to SF Day from the higher-education sector and spent six years on the board of a local K-8 independent school. A lifelong volunteer and long-time nonprofit board member, she received the Bay Area CFO of the Year Award for Community Service in 2011. Ms. Izuel holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in International Business from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. A recovered globe trotter, she now spends her spare time learning from her two kids, pondering the Rubik's Cube, and providing her family with a lifetime supply of knitted scarves.

I love our students the most!

Playful, smart, and a strong swimmer

What is one thing that students would be surprised to know about you?

I love writing poetry - watch my debut at Poetry Day!

What is one thing you are currently learning or would like to learn?

I would like to learn to play the violin.
