I am elated that you are excited about San Francisco Day School and are curious to learn more about us! I am also in a similar period of wonder and discovery as I begin my tenure as Head of School of SF Day. My professional and personal journey has taken me from my birthplace of Uganda to Kenya, then on to Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City.  Now I am a proud resident of the incredible city of San Francisco – appreciating, embracing, and learning from each community member’s lived-in experience along the way.

I was drawn to SF Day for its commitment to academic exploration, investment in our students’ holistic experience, and to a community that is committed to developing diversity that is broad, evolving, and that enriches everyone. A school is a special kind of community, made up of a series of connections with people who all share a common goal: the best possible education for the children in their care – a community where families are not just included, but feel a profound sense of belonging. Ever since we opened our doors in 1981, that vision of belonging has been the unique legacy of SF Day.

We invite you to visit our vibrant campus, including our renovated original school building, and our new 16,500 square foot facility, which includes academic, innovation, performance, and play spaces, as well as a rooftop garden and outdoor classroom. We invite you to see our K-8 program in action during a tour or an Open House. We are proud that our facilities reflect our educational philosophy, including providing subsidized faculty housing to ensure we attract and retain the best teachers San Francisco has to offer. We take full advantage of the cityscape on our doorstep to augment our students’ learning experience in the classroom and connect with the community beyond the school doors.
