Traffic Guidelines

In an effort to ease congestion, provide enhanced security for our community, and act as good neighbors, SF Day asks all of our community members to observe the following traffic procedures. Let's work together to manage the flow of traffic so that all are SAFE and neighbor relationships stay STRONG. We highly encourage all community members to consider using alternative modes of transportation whenever possible: walk, bike, carpool, or bus to and from school. Thank you!

Morning Drop-Off Procedures (7:45-8:30 a.m.)

SCHOOL BEGINS:
8:00 a.m. Grades 3-8
8:30 a.m. Grades K-2

  • Cars heading south (down the hill) on Central will receive priority onto Golden Gate. Do not attempt to merge into the flow of traffic from Golden Gate.
  • Please do not stop or drop-off students on Masonic Avenue.
  • Please do not stop or drop-off students before the White Zone.
  • Please do not  block the intersections of Golden Gate + Central or Golden Gate + Masonic.
  • Avoid blocking neighbors’ driveways at all times. When approaching the white zone, leave a space between cars to ensure you are not blocking a neighbors driveway on Central - do not pull up to the car in front of you.
  • Avoid blocking the parking garage unless driving in active arrival or dismissal process. If you see a vehicle attempting to exit the lot or garage, leave a space so that the person may back out safely.
  • Please be as quick as possible – no lingering/talking to other parents, faculty, students, etc. Ask your student to have his/her personal items in hand and ready to go.

End of School/Late Afternoon Pick-Up Procedures (3:00-4:00 p.m./5:30-6:00 p.m.)

DISMISSAL TIMES:
2:15 p.m. Grade K dismissed to AEP or white zone
3:00 p.m. Grades 1-4 dismissed to AEP or white zone
3:15 p.m. (MON) Grades 5-8 dismissed
3:30 p.m. (TUE-FRI) Grades 5-8 dismissed

We highly encourage families to avoid coming to school before your student is ready for pick-up. Waiting in the White Zone is not permitted, and cars arriving early will be asked to circle the block until a space opens and it is confirmed, via radio, that your student is present.

  • Cars heading south (down the hill) on Central will only be allowed onto Golden Gate.
  • Please do not stop or pick-up students on Masonic Avenue.
  • Please do not stop or pick-up students before the White Zone.
  • Please do not block the intersections of Golden Gate + Central or Golden Gate + Masonic.
  • Avoid blocking neighbors’ driveways and the parking garage unless driving in active arrival or dismissal process.
  • Please be as quick as possible – no lingering/talking to other parents, faculty, students, etc.
