Welcome fellow ‘Phins! The SF Day Alumni Council represents the nearly 2,000 alumni of San Francisco Day School. The council produces a robust, vibrant, and effective Alumni program to steward and cultivate alumni engagement.

John Charles “JC” Hanley is the Co-Founder and President of Forager Project, a San Francisco-based organic plant-based food company he launched with his stepdad in 2013. Driven by a passion for sustainability and better food, JC has spent the last decade building Forager into a nationally distributed brand focused on plant-based dairy that’s both plant-friendly and delicious. 

Before founding Forager, JC worked in private equity and investment banking in New York and Los Angeles, with a focus on consumer and media companies. JC grew up in San Francisco and graduated from SF Day in 2001. JC has served on the SF Day Alumni Council since 2017, contributing both his professional expertise and personal insights. 

JC and his wife, Jade, live in San Francisco with their two kids—Olivia (5), who is a Kindergartener at SF Day, and Lucas (3). As both a parent and alumnus, JC is excited to give back to the community that helped shape him and to support the school’s continued growth. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, seeing live music, and cheering on his local teams.
